Precious Moment: 110604 KIMCHI 2011

Here I am, almost three months after SS3 Malaysia and I just met the boys again. KIMCHI 2011 w/ the performers Super Junior, Park Jung Min, Girls Day, The Boss, and X5 is really unforgettable. Not only I got to watch the boys for the 2nd time this year (which I never even dreamed of at all) but I also experienced the new phenomena of being in the middle of INA ELF. Lets begin the story here.

About one or two months ago, the news about KIMCHI were everywhere on Twitter. When I first heard it, I wanted to laugh. It was very difficult to see SuJu that I gotta fly overseas and now there was possibility I could see them twice in a year lol. I remembered my mom told me that eventually they would come to this country. She's such a fortune teller, ide.

Tbh I didn't think about going. The tix price was unreasonable; it wasn't a full-SuJu concert and the ticket was even more expensive than Super Show;s, wtf. My budget limit for this kind of concert is one million rupiahs and by saying that, I mean one million for the best stage view. Here in KIMCHI, one million and half is the price of Festival 2, standing and far from stage, behind the festival 1. The cheapest one was Tribune 2 which was the farthest and on the sides. Want the middle position? You could, just paid 2 million IDR and got Tribune 1. The best position? Festival 1 for standing and VIP for sitting, 2 million IDR and 2.5 million IDR respectively. By now you should understand why I wasn't so excited for this event. It's not worth paying that much for a show that I didn't even know how long SuJu would perform in.

I recalled I was smiling seeing ELF went butthurt about the ticket price. SS3 Vietnam was abt to be held and imho, it was much much better than KIMCHI. Yes I gotta count the money spent for plane and accommodation but it was definitely more satisfying. 30 more songs vs maybe 5 or 6 songs? lol you gotta be kidding me. Furthermore the stage and seating position was not good here. In SS3 the stage was in the middle and wherever you sit, you could see at least one of the boys. Here, the stage was only at the front. For Tribune 1 and 2, you gotta depend on the screen to see their faces. Well, this might be the only chance for INA ELF who to meet them in person so ofc I encouraged them to attend. But me, I wasn't sure.

The temptation came when my friend asked me to go together. She never saw the boys before and I wanted her to have such experience. Ofc we just wanted the Tribune 2. From the beginning, I knew Tribune 2 was the most wanted of all and getting that ticket would be war-like. KIMCHI didn't have presale though some fanbases had already opened the pre-order. My other friend trusted one fanbase to get her ticket; later on she didn't get it. I was thinking about ordering through fanbase too, but apparently they didn't accept more order anymore. In such critical time, my friend in Bandung offered help to order the ticket. I never know through whom she ordered, but she could ensure me that we got it even before the official sale begun. It was amazing, really. While other ELF were struggling to get the Tribune 2 on the official sale (some of them even spent the night waiting there), I just sit at home and read their tweets. Well, I do admit it sounds unfair but that was just how the game was played.

Getting closer to June 4th, my friend who offered me the help told me she couldn't make it. What a regret. So at the end I only had one friend that I knew; the other 4 people were the friends of my friend and I just ever talked through message w/ one of them. We discussed about how they would stay in Jakarta. At first I offered them to stay in my place but at the end, they stayed at their relative's home.

On June 2nd, I asked my friend's friend about their arrival here. Well, just then she told me to get the tickets. Actually the organizer just gave us the voucher when we did the payment, and we gotta exchange them w/ the tickets few days before the H-day. This is what I really dislike about the system; what's the trouble w/ giving us the tickets directly and not using the annoying vouchers? It was really troublesome and I pitied the fans from other towns; they had to go back and forth Jakarta to do payment, exchange the tickets, and watch the concert.

Tbh I never really checked about the date coz I thought my friend would have set up everything. I was wrong. On that day, June 2nd, I just knew that I was the one who had to get the tickets and she told me at 8pm to go to MOI which needs 1 hour by taxi. The ticket exchange closed at 9pm so it was definitely impossible for me. I remembered I was so panic. If I couldn't watch the concert coz I was late in exchanging the ticket, I would surely went kill them rofl. Okay it was only my imagination. Apparently I could exchange it the following day, but still at MOI. So the following night, at 6pm I went there by taxi and arrived at 7pm. The people from the organizer were already there and I just spent maybe less than 10 minutes inside. Yes, less than 10 minutes but going back and forth spent me 2 hours and more than 100,000 IDR. Watching anything Super Junior related always spent me more money than I plan lol, ide.

So finally 6 tickets in hand. I started planning the following day's activity. Tribune 2 was free seating so who came first would get the best position. Fans were allowed to queue since 10am though the gate opened at 4pm and the concert started at 6pm. I had class till 12 noon (though actually I could go back earlier) and my friend was a bit reluctant to go so early lol. Moreover my friend's friend wanted to get the tickets coz she was gonna stalk the boys at the airport. At first she asked me to go to Sency (which is as far as MOI) but I refused; it was enough for me to get the ticket, I wouldn't do any more sacrifices. I asked her to come to my place instead as here was also near to the airport. Fortunately she agreed but she would come at 1pm. That meant I gotta rush from campus to my place, had fast lunch and met her. Well ok. I planned to go at 2pm as the way there would spend me about 1 hour.

June 4th 2011
I went back from campus exactly at 12 noon. I bought lunch and ate them at the maximal speed possible lol. It was already 12.30pm when I arrived home and I was so panic coz I hadn't done anything. I ate my lunch, kept texting my friend and my friend's friend which would come at 1.30pm, wore my make-up and changed my clothes. I picked a small bag which actually was not enough for all my stuffs (camera, 4YESUNG towel, tissues, a box w/ memory cards inside, lightstick, mirror, headset, etc.). Well I'm a girl anyway, s0 please understand lol. I was still preparing when my friend's friend came and asked me to meet her. She was waited by her friends so I gotta rush. Man I wanted to use eyeliner and mascara but I ended up messing everything. I walked so fast w/ my bag opened to meet her and it was a very hot day which made me sweating a lot. I was ruined. About the following 15 minutes I met her and gave the tickets; fiuh finally I was done. She left to the airport and I waited for my friend. It was already 2pm and I was afraid. She came about 10 minutes later and we went by taxi after I bought some breads; I knew that they wouldn't allow foods anyway but I was afraid I would be hungry.

Finally we arrived at the venue around 3pm. It was cloudy and I thought it was gonna rain lmao. Couldn't help but recalled what Teuki said about raining everytime they came to a country for SS3. Well, but it wasn't SS3!! So it didn't rain which was good. There was already very very crowded at the venue. I didn't see many people wearing blue but well, it was understandable since it was the first time SuJu performed here. I saw some people selling SuJu shirts, fans, and even lightsticks lol but the lightstick was the kind of colorful ones, not the single blue lightstick. I intended to bring two lightsticks but apparently one just wouldn't do so at the end I brought only one. I planned to record all the time though so I let my friend held it.

It was so funny that some fans kept making chaos by screaming and running everytime they saw something coming. There was a bus coming to the venue and the fans screamed and ran to the fence surrounding the venue. My friend kept pulling me to watch and I just laughed. I had read on Twitter that the boys' plane would come around 4pm so it was impossible that they were there. Well, Donghae arrived earlier though but I thought he would come together w/ other members. It might be the staffs inside the bus but fans were screaming like crazy. I consoled my friend and asked her to queue before late. So we stood there, behind a very long line extending from the entrance to the road. We talked about my experience in SS3. She is Donghae's fan and she was very afraid Hae wouldn't come when the news about Siwon came out lol. She also kept complaining about Hae's long and blond hair haha. I agreed that Hae looked much better w/ short and black hair like in 4jib and I felt happy that Yesung didn't do anything extreme to his hair. We kept talking and fanning ourselves cause though cloudy, it was so humid. My friend asked the fan seller and guess what; he sold one fan for 20,000 IDR!! Wtf. We decided to not buy but tbh I was hoping we bought one and used it together lol coz it was almost unbearably hot. There was even one fan who fainted and we made joke about how it would be the worst thing ever if one of us fainted and the it appeared on campus news lmao. Fans kept shouting the guard to open the door. Well, well. It was useless coz the organizer had announced the time earlier. We just had to wait.

While waiting, I texted my friend who was waiting at the airport. She said that they hadn't come even though it was 4pm already. Well, either they hadn't come or she just failed in stalking them. Until 4.3opm she still didn't see them so I knew she was waiting at the wrong entrance then. Around 4pm, finally the gate opened so we could enter the venue, but not the building. They divided us to groups and let one group in in one time so every few minutes we took a step forward. It wasn't as excruciating as SS3 though, furthermore this time I wore sandals and shorts rather than trousers and high insoles lol. But being a short girl, it was very hard to get fresh air and wind so the perspiration still formed everywhere, ruining my makeup. I wished I was taller T.T The floor was so dirty and full of whatever trashes from foods to papers. I didn't want to look at my feet but I knew I gotta wash my sandals lol. My friend clung her arm on mine and we kept the gap close. Some fans held blue ELF balloons and some brought the fansigns. I just wore the towel around my neck. It was chaotic and I was really tempted to capture that moment lol but I didn't want to use up my battery. At the end I just used my phone and the pictures were quite... representative.

After queuing for maybe half hour, we arrived at the front line. I put my camera and my friend's one inside my pants pocket coz camera wasn't allowed. Apparently they just checked for drinks there and I regretted throwing my breads away T.T After the first checking point, we entered and got our tickets checked. We thought that we could directly enter the building so we ran but lol we still had to queue behind a very long line to the building entrance. We sit on the floor for about another half hour. The VVIP who ranted earlier coz she gotta queue like Tribune ones was paid off; she could directly enter the building. Well, coz we felt thirsty and we thought that the drink bought inside would be allowed in, we bought the mineral water which cost us10,000 IDR. Moneysucker.

After about half hour, we were told to stand up and walk forward. Again, they divided us into groups and let us in slowly. A ticket was found on the floor and fortunately one girl kindly picket it up and few seconds after, the owner could get it back. On the second checking point, we were asked to throw away our drinks. What a nice way to suck money. They also did the body checking. Fortunately, my friend saw that earlier and suggested saving the camera inside the hidden part of the bag. The cameras were successfully got in lol. And I know the admin of 4YESUNG, Pookka successfully got in her huge DSLR camera too, whatever way she used.

After the checking point, we ran inside the building and found our way to the concert venue. Oh my, the lower part was already full. We were looking everywhere for better empty seats but well, the upper parts were the only ones available. We chose the possible nearest one to the stage. Ah finally we were inside. I looked everywhere and saw the Tribune 1 still got so many empty seats. I understood if Tribune 1 wasn't sold out thought; the position was not worth paying that much. If I gotta choose between Tribune 1 and Festival 2, I would choose the latter. Festival 1 was full, VIP seemed full too. But Festival 2 still got some empty space. Some fans already turned on their lightsticks. I saw some green lightsticks by Triple S who came to see SS501 Park Jung Min too. Earlier, I saw some girls wearing yellow shirts indicating X5. While sitting, we took pictures using our cameras. I saw fans hanging banner of X5, The Boss (if I'm not mistaken), SS501 and Super Junior. I just captured the black Super Junior's banner which had the writing "SEE YOU AT SS4 INDONESIA!" along w/ the chibi Super Junior's members. It looked quite nice.

Tbh I felt quite thirsty then and I wasn't sure I could stand for 2 hours more. Thought difficult since I gotta walk pass through many people's feet, I walked outside and searched for drink. The first security I asked was ridiculous; he told me I could only buy drink outside the building but I wasn't allowed to bring it in. Well, as far as I knew, the building itself always sell some drinks. I asked the second security and he told me it was available inside. Lucky.

Back to inside the venue, I was almost lost lol it was so crowded that I couldn't see my friend. Ah just then I realized we sit extremely far from stage. It was around 6pm and the show finally begun.

The MC came out and the audience started screaming. One MC is Edrick Chandra from Indonesia, and the other is DJ Young from Korea. The Korean MC could talk in English and Korean and it was the first time he MCing in Indonesia. Later on he said it was really nice =) Yes, so they talked about the trivial stuffs and mentioned the performers which made fans scream. But they forgot to mention Park Jung Min and ofc his fans protested. That time I really respected ELF; they also screamed Park Jung Min to remind the MC. But they didn't realize thought it seemed impossible for them to not hear our chant ==" After talking about 15 minutes, they went inside and the first performer appeared. It was The Boss.

Tbh I didn't know much about other performers and I just saw The Boss and X5 for the first time then. The Boss sang about 5 songs, X5 sang 3 songs, and Girls Day sang 3 songs too if I'm not mistaken. Their perfs were okay thought Girls Day voices sounded too sharp; Idk if it was the sound system or what. It might sound selfish but honestly we were hoping for other performers to not sing so many songs so there was more time for Super Junior. I didn't hate other performers but the promoter promised us that SuJu would sing more than 5 songs. Ofc 6 songs were considered as more than 5 songs too, right? That was what we feared of.

Well, I couldn't write much about other singers coz I wasn't familiar w/ them. Maybe the only one I liked was Park Jung Min's perf. He was quite cute and cool but my fav from SS501 was Kim Hyun Joong. Honestly I was hoping for Hyun Joong to come instead lol. His first perf was very cool. Idk the song's title but it sounded nice; his voice and dance captured my friend's and my heart lol. What made us admire him more were his humbleness and friendliness. He always smiled and talked Bahasa Indonesia a lot, and he even hugged both MCs!! Woa fans screamed over jealousy; I did too lmao. During one song, he even did the silly bottom dance and went so near to the fans. I believed he earned more fans that night =) Not only green lightsticks, but blue lightsticks also danced along w/ him. My friend and I spazzed over him haha. I may search more about him later.

PJM sang about 4 songs. The MCs came out again and ofc teased us about SuJu. We just couldn't wait anymore!! Just hoped they would talk faster and let our boys came out. About 5 mins later, they finally went in. Lights went dim. Yeah it was finally Super Junior's time!!!

We waited w/ high anticipation when Siwon appeared on screen. It was the video of him apologizing to fans coz he couldn't come due to his shooting schedule. We screamed and chanted "Choi Siwon!! Choi Siwon!!" as if he was there. Moreover when he said "Aku Cinta Kalian" lmao fans went crazy. The screen then showed the Bonamana teaser. Yes, I screamed when Yesung appeared on screen lol silly me. The teaser ended and the light went dim again. After awhile, some figures moved to the stage and all fans screamed their lungs out!! It was Super Junior!! like OMG Super Junior is here!! lol even though I had ever seen them twice before, but the atmosphere was burnt up; it was impossible to not be affected and join the chaos.

The first song was Bonamana. I had started recording since Siwon's video and now that all fans stood up on their seat, it was difficult to record. I stood on the bench too and tried to stabilize my camera. When I saw the audience, omg.. The blue ocean in dark was super beautiful!! Apparently not all fans lightening their lightsticks before SuJu and now it looked much more brighter than before. Bonamana was hot. I sang along.. no I screamed through the whole song lmao. I knew I would ruin the fancam but I couldn't stand it; all fans were screaming and it felt so weird to just stand still in silence. The fans on my line jumped along the song and the bench was shaking; I was afraid it would break down lol. My friend kept screaming "DONGHAEEE!!!" plus kept complaining why Hae wore black glasses covering his face lmao. The funny moment was when I mistook Sungmin as Yesung. Ming wore the black vest like what Yesung used to wear during SS3, that's why. But even then I felt that Yesung's body was thinner than that lol. Just after Yesung's part, I realized I had been focusing on wrong person. Sorry Ming, but I intended to take Yesung focus fancam. On Yesung's part, I always tried to capture his close-up on screen but it was always late; everytime I shifted the cam to the screen, it didn't show Yesung anymore. I was mad, really. I used maximal zoom but it was blur; yes, my position was too far. I almost surrendered recording fancam; I thought I should have enjoyed the perfs instead. But still, lol, I couldn't resist.

After Bonamana, they performed No Other which burned up the atmosphere just like Bonamana did. I could ensure that for No Other, they didn't lipsynch. As for other songs, Idk. After No Other, the translator came out. They introduced themselves. Yesung's turn was after Sungmin but he stood still for awhile till Ming asked him lol. He shouted his intro loudly and fans screamed. Hae shouted "Apa khabar, nama saya Donghae!!!" Heechul: "Apa khabar? Heechul" and bowed down. Eunhyuk: "Nama saya Eunhyuk!" Zhoumi: "Apa kabar? Wo shi Zhoumi, ta cia hao!!" Henry did intro in English: "Whassup Indonesia!!! Apa kabar!!!" then the climax was on Leeteuk's part: "Assalamualaikum!!!! Assalamualaikum!! Nama saya... Leeteuk!!" LOL. "Saya mau datang.. di.. Indonesia!!" well you were already here, leader xD. "Saya suka.. Indonesia gadis!" lmao did you use Google translator?? xDDD

After the intro, SJM members minus Henry and Zhoumi went backstage to prepare for their following perf. Yesung wanted to join but Shindong pulled him back lol. Leeteuk thanked Indonesian fans for their support. Heechul talked about the possibility of having SS4 here. Even before the translator translated what he was talking, the words "Super Show concert" already made fans screamed out loud. Leeteuk then asked whether all SuJu's members who came there were handsome lmao he was such a teaser. Meanwhile, one male security helped ELF giving a paper bag (w/ gifts inside, I guess) to the members. He waved the bag and Yesung saw him, but he only gave him smile and waved to him as if the security was a fan lmao. The security then just put the bag on stage and turned back to face the audience. Heenim then saw it and took it!! gosh that fan really had to thank the security lol. Leeteuk then said Indonesian girls were also beautiful haha. Dork. Leeteuk asked the audience if they were ready for their performance. Fans screamed. Henry then talked in English. Leeteuk asked Shindong about the next performer, and Shindong mentioned SuJu M. Yes, the next one was Super Junior M-Perfection!!

I recorded Perfection coz I really loved the choreo. It was one of the hottest perfs. After Perfection, SuJu M came back w/ Super Girl; this one I couldn't resist lol. After Super Girl, SuJu T performed Rokkugo. I didn't record that for I knew the battery wouldn't do. After Rokkugo, they did the talking once again. Leeteuk announced that Hae would spend one more night in Jakarta, then Yesung talked something to Hae but it wasn't clear and the translator didn't translate it either. He always talked when the translator started talking so he never got chance lol. I guess he wasn't used to having a translator. One moment was when he tried to talk when the translator did, Hae made the sign to shut up. He even tried to touch Yesung's lips (or philtrum? lmao). Eunhyuk said: "You're so gorgeous." then "I'm so gorgeous. You love me" Yesung talked to him: "You.. You're gordon(?)" lol Idg what he was talking. Kyu talked about him being a magnae, then Shindong who took a gold medal from INA ELF earlier wore it on Kyu's neck. At last, Leeteuk announced that it was time for their last perf. Man, I was shocked and sad; 6 songs were obviously NOT ENOUGH!!! All fans screamed in disappointment. Leeteuk then said that we could meet again through the newest album, 5jib. Ah still, it was too short >< Yesung tried to talk again but failed lol. Well at least finally Leeteuk asked him the song's title, and he answered: "Sorry Sorry~yo." His only chance to talk lol. Poor boy.

As Sorry Sorry was the last song, we screamed as loud as we could. Oh yeah, I forgot the time, but when they were at the backstage, we sang Happy Birthday to Ryeowook. After that they came out like nothing happened but later on I heard rumor saying that Wook cried after we sang. Well Idk, but I do hope they realized our singing lol. During Sorry Sorry, I anticipated much for Yesung's adlibs. And guess what? He did that adlibs!! That "GIRRLLLL~!!!!!" omo finally I could see it live and ofc I screamed and ruined my fancam. I'm sorry ><

After Sorry Sorry, the boys went back and the stage went dim. Fans shouted Encore but I thought it had ended. Just then, a group of kids came out and lined up on stage, singing Heal The World. They were Korean kids. Though we still felt disappointed, we sang along too. During the song a boy holding Indonesian flag and a girl holding Korean flag appeared and walked to each other, then hugged. The MCs came out too and talked about Indonesia-Korea friendship. After some talking, they announced that all performers would come out to stage once again. Fans screamed for much anticipation of seeing SuJu again lol we thought we wouldn't see them anymore. The Boss, X5, Girls Day, and PJM appeared, and the last was SuJu. Boys bowed to the audience and stood behind the kids. They waved to every direction, then walked to the left side (my side) and waved, then walked to the right side to wave and bow for the last time before walking to the backstage. When other members had disappeared, Leeteuk ran to the left side once again and waved lol. He was so hyper even when dancing and singing. Our leader =)

So... KIMCHI ended. I spazzed w/ my friend until we got home lol. It was quite tiring but worth having. My friend was so happy to see Hae live. To me, it was too far to see Yesung clearly. It couldn't be compared w/ SS3 where he was moving right in front of me. Well, well. At least I could feel the atmosphere lol. But if there is SS4 here, I would definitely attend even if the tix price is as expensive as KIMCHI. Hopefully not.
